Tenneco Clean Air India Initiates ‘Vriksharopan Abhiyan’ with Large-Scale Tree Plantation in Pune

Reinforcing its commitment to environmental sustainability, Tenneco Clean Air India, along with the 15th Battalion of the Jat Regiment and Vaghmi Foundation, launched ‘Vriksharopan Abhiyan’ at the Jat Regiment premises in Lullanagar, Pune. The initiative involves planting 5,000 saplings and ensuring their maintenance over an 18-month period to support long-term ecological sustainability.

The event was attended by members of Tenneco’s leadership team, officers and personnel from the 15th Battalion of the Jat Regiment, and representatives of the Vaghmi Foundation. The initiative highlights Tenneco’s focus on environmental conservation through collaborative community partnerships and structured sustainability programmes.

Addressing the initiative, Rishi Verma, President, Tenneco India, said, “The Vriksharopan Abhiyan is a meaningful step in Tenneco’s larger ambition to contribute to India’s environmental priorities. Our focus is on nurturing long-term green cover through structured care, protection and scientific monitoring. Through this collaborative effort, we aim to create healthier, more resilient ecosystems that benefit the community for years to come.”

Each sapling planted as part of the programme will be tagged and recorded to allow systematic monitoring, survival tracking, and quarterly reporting by the Vaghmi Foundation. Tenneco employees and Foundation representatives will remain actively involved through periodic site visits, ensuring sustained responsibility and long-term impact.
