Vi has launched 5G services in eight cities in Maharashtra — Kolhapur, Vasai, Nanded, Jalgaon, Satara, Malegaon, Shirdi and Dhule — as part of its ongoing network expansion.
The telecom operator said it will roll out 5G in 10 additional cities, including Akola, Miraj, Chandrapur, Solapur and Bhiwandi, by May 2026, taking total coverage to 18 cities in the state.
The expansion follows earlier deployments in Pune, Nagpur, Nashik and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Vi said it is focusing on high-demand zones such as industrial corridors and urban clusters with high data consumption.
The company added that the rollout supports digital infrastructure growth in Maharashtra, a key contributor to India’s economy.
Commenting on the expansion, Anand Dani, Cluster Business Head – Maharashtra & Goa, Vi, said:
“We are accelerating the expansion of Vi’s 5G network across Maharashtra, as we strengthen our footprint across key markets in the state. Building on our presence in cities like Pune, Nagpur, Nashik and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, we are now expanding in eightcities and progressing across multiple cities in a phased manner. Our expansion is guided by a clear focus on prioritising high demand locations spanning high potential data consumption ensuring a consistent and enhanced network experience for our users.”
