Bollywood singer Monali Thakur’s mom dies, artist dedicates heartfelt note

Monali Thakur, a noted musician, is mourning the death of her mother. The National Award winner verified in a sorrowful statement that she posted on Instagram. According to a number of media stories, Monali was attending a concert in Bangladesh when she received the tragic news, which devastated her.

In a South Kolkata private hospital, the deceased was kept on a ventilator for more than twenty days. She was receiving regular dialysis due to kidney-related problems. Her last rites were held on May 17 at the Keoratala Crematorium, according to The Daily Star.

The artist wrote on Instagram, “The one who kept giving me wings finally took her own and flew. Baba and Daichi I am sure are waiting to receive you. I’ll join when my time comes but for now.. my Love..”

She added with heavy heart, “… to have gotten this kind of Love and support, wisdom and innocence from a virgin heart like yours… Such a beautiful and strong woman you have been Maa.. Thank you for my life and for being what you have been to me.. my everything.. my main pillar..”

Monali said that she has always looked up to her mother. The singer loves her more than life itself, and the sorrow in her heart is unbearable.

Tragically, the singer lost her father Sakti Thakur, an actor and singer, only three years ago in 2020.

In a similar vein, Monali was regrettably not in Kolkata when her father died away. She primarily resides in Switzerland with her spouse, Maik Richter, whom she married in 2017. Nonetheless, Thakur makes frequent business trips between India and Switzerland, especially for concert and shows.
