Post some rough seas last week, Typhoon Company appears to have found its female lead! Actress Kim Min Ha, who played young Sunja in the AppleTV+ series Pachinko with Lee Min Ho, has reportedly been asked to fill the void, according to a recent story published by Xports News on January 13.
Actress Geum Sae Rok, who has starred in dramas such as Soundtrack #2, The Interest of Love, and Youth of May, was previously set to play the lead alongside Lee Junho. But according to reports last week, the star has chosen to leave the part because of a schedule clash with her other projects.
Kim Min Ha’s agency, Noon Company, responded to the casting announcement by stating that she was given numerous projects, including Typhoon Company, and that her involvement has not yet been confirmed. Though the recent change in the female protagonist has raised doubts about its timely completion.
As Lee Junho’s filming for Cashero is finished, he will come on board as Typhoon Company’s CEO, Kim Tae Poong, in Typhoon Company aka the Typhoon Boss. Oh Mi Sook will be the family’s eldest daughter and bear the financial burden, a role that was offered to Geum Sae Rok and, more recently, Kim Min Ha.
The plot attempts to showcase the difficulties small and medium-sized enterprises encountered during the 1997 IMF crisis. It is helmed by Lee Na Jung, best known for her roles in dramas such as Mine, Love Alarm, Fight for My Way, and See You in My 19th Life.
