Lee Min Ho’s Pachinko 2 reserves spot in the top 10 in 95 regions
After its official premiere, the show has managed to secure a spot among the top 10 globally viewed shows.
The main actors in the South Korean television series Pachinko Season 2 are Kim Min Ha and Lee Min Ho. It chronicles the hardships faced by a Korean family throughout several generations as they migrate and experience cultural change.
On August 23, 2024, the second season of Pachinko debuted, and the audience embraced the show with great enthusiasm. The program has been ranked in the top 10 in 95 countries, according to streaming analytics website FlixPatrol. It has won first place in a number of places, including the Philippines, Cambodia, Cape Verde, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.
In addition, the series holds the sixth position in the US, Canada, and the UK. It was ranked third overall (after Bad Monkey and Presumed Innocent) among the top 10 TV series on Apple TV+ as of August 25, 2024.
Pachinko is based on the same-titled novel by Min Jin Lee. The narrative centers on a Korean family that spans four generations and experiences both highs and lows in life. Sun Ja relocated to Koreatown in Osaka, Japan, away from her family when Korea was still ruled by Japan.
Written and created by Soo Hugh, the showrunner, The novel’s remaining stories, which delve deeply into the complexity of the people, will be adapted by the storyline in a continuing fashion. In addition to Lee Min Ho and Kim Min Ja, the ensemble cast included Youn Yuh Jung, Jin Ha, Han Jun Woo, Jung Eun Chae, Kaho Minami, Noh Sang Hyun, Anna Sawai, and Jimmy Simpson.
The second season of Pachinko debuted on August 23, 2024, and new episodes air every week on Apple TV+.
