Mike Tyson, the former heavyweight champion, had a medical problem on Sunday while traveling from Miami to Los Angeles, according to his management.
The event happens a few weeks prior to the boxing legend’s scheduled matchup with social media celebrity Jake Paul. It is planned to happen in July in Texas.
When the plane landed in Los Angeles, it had already been delayed two hours in Miami because of a problem with the air conditioning. Paramedics boarded the aircraft to provide the 57-year-old with emergency care.

As per an eyewitness, “He was in first class, but we were in an exit row.” The plane was delayed for another twenty-five minutes while medical personnel treated Tyson at Los Angeles International Airport. The passengers were instructed to stay on the aircraft so that paramedics could enter.

Current health update

The ring icon is currently “doing great,” a spokeswoman said, when he was experiencing vertigo on the aircraft. “Thankfully Mr. Tyson is doing great,” his spokesperson told, as quoted by The New York Post. “He became nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare up 30 minutes before landing. He is appreciative to the medical staff that were there to help him.”

Is Mike Tyson still addicted to marijuana?

Tyson has already acknowledged to regularly use marijuana. He hasn’t been taking it, though, as he gets ready to fight Paul, as it is listed as an illegal substance by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

His publicist, Joann Mignano, told USA TODAY Sports that “he only stopped as a means of following all of the rules.” He still fervently believes that cannabis has medicinal benefits for both his own health and the health of others, though.

“I don’t see too many people critical about it. Look at this,” Tyson mentioned during a press conference previous month.

Following his 2005 retirement, Tyson squared off against Roy Jones at a California showcase in November 2020.
