Renukaswamy murder case: Actor Darshan Thoogudeepa to be kept in judicial custody till August 11

Actor Darshan Thoogudeepa of Kannada is scheduled to remain under judicial custody until August 11 in connection with Renukaswamy’s alleged murder. On August 1, 2024, the superstar of Kannada cinema was brought before the magistrate court with his associates, including his rumored lover Pavitra Gowda.
According to IANS, the court received a remand application from the Special Investigation Team (SIT) requesting an extension of judicial custody.
Furthermore, a number of technical evidence and analysis reports that could be important for the advancement of the investigation are still being reviewed. Due to his deteriorating health, Darshan recently filed a petition in court asking for homemade food and a bed.
But after his first plea was turned down by the court, the actor went back to the court to file a new one. He has appealed the previous ruling, saying he has a right to resources from the private sector in order to support himself.
For the uninitiated, Darshan Thoogudeepa has been arrested by Bengaluru Police and is being held under arrest in relation to the purported murder of Renukaswamy, a native of Chitradurga. According to the accusations, the victim had spoken crudely and obscenely about Pavithra Gowda, the actor’s rumored lover.
The young man was tortured and his murder was planned by the actor as a reprisal for the remarks he had made. In the murder case, the actor and actress Pavithra were taken into custody on June 11, 2024.
