Taha Shah Badussha, who previously won over hearts as Tajdar in Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, has made India proud by making his Cannes Film Festival debut.

The actor said in a recent interview that work comes before food and sleep, having skipped meals to meet with film commissioners at the festival.

The actor disclosed that he had been skipping meals in order to actively pitch himself to film commissioners as a rookie.Taha revealed that he visited every booth and spoke with every film commissioner.

“It is not like they will help me get work tomorrow morning, but you never know. I don’t mind missing my sleep or food when it comes to work. When I was at Cannes, I didn’t eat. If you have to go for food, you have to take out one and a half to two hours, go out, order a meal, finish and come back. I either eat food or make contacts, I chose the latter. Food I can have later also,” he said.

Shah talked about his earlier troubles and how he used to reward watchmen for alerting him when someone arrived by buying them juice during the same conversation. In order to meet people right away, he asked the watchman to inform him that he would also be paying him back in a particular way.
