Veteran Marathi theater and film actor Vijay Kadam succumbs to cancer at 68

Family sources have confirmed that veteran Marathi theater and film actor Vijay Kadam passed away on Saturday in Mumbai. He was sixty-eight years old. For the previous 1.5 years, the actor has been fighting cancer.
Kadam, who regarded Raja Gosavi and Sharad Talwalkar as his childhood heroes, went on to play a variety of parts in movies and television shows over the following 20 years.

His actor friend Jaywant Wadkar reportedly confirmed the news of his passing to ANI. “He had been courageously fighting cancer. Initially, he recovered but his health eventually deteriorated. Around 25 days ago, he even got an acidity attack.”

He added, “He was extremely talented. From Marathi cinema to Hindi films, he explored different kinds of projects in his decades-long career. It’s impossible to find an actor like him again. His death has left a void in the industry. He’s like my family.”

Throughout his career, some of his most well-known roles have been in Rathchakra, Vichcha Majhi Puri Kara, Tur Tur, and Sahi Re Sahi. In addition, he made appearances in the Marathi movies Halad Rusli Kunku Hasla, Vasudev Balwant Phadke, and Irsal Karti. In addition, he appeared in a couple Bollywood movies, including Aflatoon and Ghar Ek Mandir.

On Saturday afternoon, the cremation of Vijay Kadam will take place at the Andheri-Oshiwara crematorium, survived by his son and wife.
