Wayanad landslide: Suriya, Mammootty, Fahadh Faasil donate towards the relief fund
In Kerala’s Wayanad district, there were landslides and intense rains that caused many fatalities.

A couple of celebrities have stepped up to help the people affected by the landslides in Wayanad, Kerala. Millions of money have been donated to the Kerala Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund by actors from Malayalam, Tamil, and Vikram, as well as artists including Mammootty, Dulquer Salmaan, Fahadh Faasil, and Nazriya.
Celebrities lend a humanitarian hand
Actor Vikram from Tamil Nadu gave ₹20 lakh to the landslide victims. On X (formerly Twitter), his manager Yuvraaj announced the news on his behalf, writing, “Pained by the sad news of the devastation caused by the recent landslide in Kerala’s #Wayanad district that left over 150 people dead, 197 injured and several others missing, Actor @chiyaan today donated a sum of ₹20 lakhs to the Kerala Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund.”
Actors Mammootty and his son Dulquer Salmaan contributed ₹35 lakh to the relief effort together. When Mammootty addressed the media, he stated, “At the moment, I have only contributed a small amount for the relief measures. I will contribute further if the need arises. They are all people like us whose lives have changed in two days. They need our help, and it’s up to all of us to assist them.”
The actors Fahadh Faasil and Nazriya Nazim from Kerala also gave ₹25 lakh to support the victims. They acknowledged the contribution in a press release, noting, “We are making a donation of ₹25 lakh to the CMDRF. We hope this modest contribution will help provide necessary assistance to those in dire need. Our thoughts and prayers are with the people as they navigate this difficult period. Together, we may endure and overcome.”
Rashmika Mandanna gave ₹10 lakh to the victims, while the actor couple Suriya and Jyotika from Tamil also reportedly contributed ₹50 lakh together with Karthi.
