Will there be a sequel to 12th Fail? Actor Vikrant Massey responds

Vikrant Massey experienced his greatest career turning point in 2023 with the 12th Fail. The sleeper hit film, which was directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, drew more people into theaters than any other recent release. In a recent interview with India Today, Vikrant Massey discussed whether such a plan is in place.
Is there a sequel coming up?
As a conscious actor, he does not want to get type casted for a particular role, he said, “Now, I’m getting a lot of calls, people are saying let’s do another 12th Fail, but I’m making a conscious shift to pick something different.”
The next film featuring Vikrant Massey is the much awaited Haseen Dillruba sequel. Mentioning the same thing, he claimed that the reason Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba worked so well was because the first section was left open to explore the lives of all the characters after the conclusion.
He further mentioned, “If I may say so, I really don’t see a 12th Fail part two (happening). Do people want it? Yes. But is that the right thing? I mean, that is a collective decision that all of us have to take.”

Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba will be available for streaming on Netflix on August 9, featuring Taapsee Pannu and Sunny Kaushal in the lead roles as well.
The highly anticipated movie The Sabarmati Report, which is slated for release on August 2 of this year, will feature Vikrant, Rashi Khanna and Riddhi Dogra in lead roles. It is purportedly based on actual events that happened on February 27, 2002, on the Sabarmati Express.
