Star Health and Allied Insurance Reports 14% Growth in Maharashtra Premium Collection

Star Health and Allied Insurance reported a 14 per cent year-on-year increase in Gross Written Premium (GWP) in Maharashtra to ₹3,690 crore in FY26, alongside claims settlements worth ₹2,294 crore.

The company said the number of policies in the region rose to 17.1 lakh during the year, while more than 5 million lives are now covered under its insurance offerings in Maharashtra.

Star Health added that its Maharashtra operations are supported by a strong regional network comprising over 3400 hospitals, 87 branches, more than 1.23 lakh advisors and over 2000 employees.

Himanshu Walia said, “According to data from the National Statistical Office, eight out of ten households in Maharashtra rely on private hospitals and services for their healthcare needs. For our team at Star Health, that makes the distinction of being the highest claims payer in the state something beyond pure operational scale. Every claim settled becomes a moment where we mitigate financial vulnerability in a medical emergency and relieve the burden that families would otherwise bear.”
