Godrej Enterprises Group on Wednesday announced the launch of India’s first Multi Ion battery technology for electric forklifts, as manufacturers and warehouse operators increasingly seek cleaner and more cost-efficient industrial solutions.
The technology has been introduced through the company’s Material Handling Equipment business and is designed to improve uptime, lower operational costs, and support sustainable industrial operations.
According to the company, the battery offers fast and opportunity charging capabilities, requires zero maintenance, and delivers high energy efficiency. It also addresses disposal concerns and avoids dependency on rare earth materials.
Developed with an Indian deep-tech battery innovator, the Multi Ion battery provides up to 5,000 life cycles, nearly 60% higher than conventional lithium-ion batteries, the company said.
The launch comes as India’s warehousing and logistics sector continues to expand rapidly. Over 11 million sq. ft. of warehousing space was leased across the top eight cities during Q1 2026, registering double-digit growth year-on-year.

The company stated that the battery technology is backed by over 5,000 hours of real-world validation and includes a seven-year warranty.
